Follow Your Passion & Money Will Come
How is it that some people seem to innately know what they want? These successful people seemed to have known their life's path at an early age and streamlined their life to meet their career goals. I was not one of these.
Like so many in college, I changed my major after the first year. I truly didn't know what path to take. I didn't have any of the typical motivations: money, power, fame etc. I did know one thing though, like most millennials, I wanted to find a career that was satisfying and personally fulfilling. I can hear the baby boomer's scoff already, "Its not about being happy," "you can't have everything," "you must make sacrifices." You do not have to sacrifice who you are and what you love. What you must do is find an original way to market your skills or product, and target the right market.
Know what you want ! If you do not know what that is maybe this will help. If there is something you think you can't do, but when you think about it your pulse races and you get butterflies in your stomach, you are heading in the right direction. The thing that you think is too big of a risk, but you dream of what that success would be like. Degrees these days do not mean instant financial security, in many cases. You may have to work a mundane job while you develop your goals. This is totally acceptable!
